Gilbert Cardenas, the preeminent collector of Latino art in the US, mentor, scholar, and institution builder, filled gaps: as Chicano activist, founding Director of the Institute for Latino Studies at Notre Dame, and advocate for the creation of the Smithsonian Latino Center. Told through stories by Gil, artists he nurtured, and colleagues, this documentary gives credit where credit is due to an Hombre Sin Fronteras.
